The beach umbrella
Today we checked out East Beach in Galveston. We really liked it because there weren’t huge crowds there. We did get ripped off, however. When we got to the beach we spotted a beach umbrella and two chairs just calling out to us, so we parked it there. At first we thought it was too good to be true — free beach umbrellas and chairs! As it turns out, it was way too good to be true. About 45 minutes into Chel’s tanning session the rightful renter of the umbrellas approached us and asked us if we wanted to rent the setup for the rest of the day.
We didn’t have much of a choice at that point — I didn’t want to be burned to a crisp and we had really already settled in. So, we shelled out $30 big ones for the rental of that umbrella and two rickety chairs. But we learned — after we were done at the beach, we headed straight to Target and invested in our own three-person tent. So I’m gonna be sitting in style tomorrow after we pitch a tent at the beach!
