Back from the beach!

We made it back from the beach this afternoon, tanned and well-rested. (Well, maybe not entirely well-rested, since we both took naps when we got back!)

The tent experiment was a bust, but the picture of me inside the tent on the beach is kinda funny!

The last couple of days we stayed at Grace Manor bed & breakfast in Galveston. It was totally different from the first b&b, but it was still wonderful. The home is 100 years old this year and still has a ton of features original to the place. Each room was beautifully decorated. Barb, the owner, was a wonderful host and she makes an awesome breakfast. I would like to adopt her practice of having dessert for breakfast every day, but I don’t think the diet I’m about to go on will allow it!

One more day off and then I start the new job. Woohoo! There are a lot of things I’m looking forward to about the new job — new people to meet, new challenges to take on, the chance to continue my education, and last but not least, finally dedicating myself to working out at the campus rec center so I can shed a few of these vacation pounds.
