The Letter
I got The Letter today — the one that will change my nighttime schedule for the next few years, and potentially impact my career for as long as I’m a working man.
“Congratulations! I am pleased to offer you admission to the SMU Dedman School of Law. You have been admitted to the part-time evening J.D. program for the class entering in the fall of 2006. You soon will join a global law school community of distinguished SMU alumni residing throughout the United States and in 70 countries. In reviewing your outstanding qualifications, the Admissions Committee found particular interest in your experience as the student body president of TCU.”
Naturally, I hung The Letter on the refrigerator, the place of honor for academic documents of such importance!
