An extra class
Thursday was the first day of school. My workmates wished me luck with a nice card, and they all chipped in to put a little money on my student account so I could buy some caffeinated beverages when I need them!
Tonight I had Legal Research & Writing and Contracts. Both classes seem like they’ll be interesting and challenging, but the Contracts professor let us know that he has automatically signed us up for an additional class: it’s called Introductory Physical Fitness for Lawyers!
The requirements of this class are that we work out 3 times a week for about 30 minutes each time. He promised to e-mail us and expected a return e-mail with our plan for when these workouts would take place! If we don’t do these workouts, he threatened to sign us up next year for Remedial Physical Fitness for Lawyers, which involved workouts that he himself would supervise. If we do complete the workouts, next semester he said we could take Advanced Sexual Positions for Lawyers.
Of course, he was joking (I hope!) but he did have a good point. Even though we’re crazy busy now with classes and jobs, it’s never going to get any easier to establish a workout routine, because later on in our careers, we’re just going to be busier, with more kids and more responsibilities, and we’re naturally going to be in worse shape at that point just from getting older. So I am committing to attend Introductory Physical Fitness for Lawyers from here on out on Fridays, Sundays and Tuesdays.
